I choked down the tea that Olivia had brought me. It was green and smelled almost like flowers. I wasn’t entirely sure why she kept bringing me tea. But I drank it just to make her happy.

When I finished the tea, I brought the mug into the kitchen, rinsed it out and placed it in the dishwasher with the rest of the dishes. There still wasn’t enough for a full load, and Olivia had insisted on waiting before she ran the dishwasher. She considered it being eco-friendly.

I moved back into the living room and changed into my own pajamas. I carefully removed the sofa cushions and stacked them against the wall. I unfolded the bed and placed the pillows at the top. Olivia had made the bed with military corners, and it smelled like clean laundry. I couldn’t wait to climb inside and go to sleep, especially after the uncomfortable springs of a prison bed.

I couldn’t help but yawn as I reached for the stack of blankets. I was carefully laying a blanket over top of the sheets when Olivia came out of the bathroom from her bath.

She was wearing a pair of pink pajama bottoms and a matching top. Her pajamas were decorated with cute little hearts. Her hair was pulled up into a high pony-tail.

“Oh,” She said. “You know, I don’t think my dad will be back tonight… you could sleep in my room, if you want.” She offered. “I mean, it would probably be a lot more comfortable than the sofa-bed. I don’t mind.” She shrugged lightly.

I drew in a deep breath and chose my words carefully. “Maybe it’ll be better if I sleep out here. I mean, if your dad does decide to come home. I know he spends most nights at work, but he might not trust me entirely. I don’t want to do anything to screw this up, you know?”

Olivia nodded. “Okay. You’re probably right.” She smiled slightly.

She sat on the edge of my bed gently. “So what do you want to do tomorrow?” She asked eagerly.

“I don’t know. What do you want to do?” I asked.

She shrugged lightly. “I’ll call my dad and see if he wants to do any more work… but other than that I’m open to anything. I can make breakfast tomorrow morning.” She offered.

I nodded. “Cool… there is one thing we could probably do tomorrow.”

Olivia straightened up. “Sure. Anything.” She insisted.

“Well, most of my family should be working or at school tomorrow… so I was thinking we could stop at my house and pick up a few things… I don’t really want to talk to them or anything… so I think if we can sneak in and get out before anyone knows we were there, it would be okay.” I shrugged.

Olivia frowned.

I knew she didn’t understand why I didn’t want to face either of my parents. My parents actually liked her, which was why she thought so highly of them.

“Okay,” She agreed. “If that’s what you want to do, that’s what we’ll do.” She agreed, forcing a smile.

I was unable to hide a yawn.

“Oh, you’re probably exhausted.” She mused. “I’ll let you get some sleep… do you need anything?”

I shook my head. “I think I’m actually okay. Thank you. For everything.”

She smiled. “Of course, don’t worry about it.” She stood up and wrapped her arms around my neck. “I’m glad to help.”

I wrapped my arms tightly around her, hugging her tightly to me. I inhaled the sweet scent of her soap, and felt peaceful and relaxed.

I released her slowly and she smiled at me. “Really, if you need anything, I don’t mind.”

“Thanks.” I nodded.

I waited for Olivia to disappear down the hallway. I climbed onto the sofa bed and dropped back against the pillows. Compared to the prison bed, this felt like heaven. I drew in a deep breath and sighed heavily.

I shut my eyes and tried to sleep. I turned over onto my side and sighed heavily. I pulled the blankets up over my shoulder and inhaled the scent of wonderfully clean sheets.

It didn’t take long before I was slowly drifting off to sleep. I was somewhere between awake and asleep when I felt the bed shift beneath me. I was sure that I was dreaming, so I didn’t bother opening my eyes.

I could distinctly smell Olivia’s sweet perfume, it enveloped me and woke my senses.

Again I thought I was dreaming.

I felt Olivia’s soft lips against mine. I couldn’t help but return her soft, gentle kisses. I knew immediately that I wasn’t asleep. This was too good to be a dream. Her kisses grew hungrier and probing. I wrapped my arm around her, pulling her close to me. I opened my eyes and saw Olivia in front of me. This definitely wasn’t a dream.

“I missed you.” She whispered breathlessly, before kissing me again.

I sighed and slowly, reluctantly broke the kisses. “Liv…” I whispered. “I can’t.”

Her lips slightly pushed out into a pout. “Sure you can, it’s been so long. We don’t have to do anything more, we can just do this.” She insisted, pressing her lips to the corner of my mouth.

I sighed softly, returning her kisses awkwardly. “Olivia,” I stopped her carefully. “I can’t. Seriously. Some other time, okay? Just now… isn’t the time. I’m exhausted and it’s been a really long day…”

Olivia pursed her lips. “Right, you’re absolutely right. I wasn’t even thinking of that… I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done this.” She mused.

“Liv, it’s okay. It’s just… not the time. There’s a lot of pressure, and I just got out of jail and everything… Don’t be upset, okay?”

“Oh, no. I understand.” She insisted. “I shouldn’t have done this… I’m… just going to go to bed.” She lightly kissed my cheek and climbed out of bed.

I felt like a huge moron. I couldn’t possibly tell her that I’d promised her father that there would be nothing going on between us.

I watched Olivia cross the room, moving around the bed. I caught a brief flash of her as she passed through the light coming from the bathroom door. She was wearing only a pair of lacy panties and a matching bra.

I groaned, dropping back against the pillows.

I couldn’t shake the image of Olivia out of my head. I couldn’t believe I was such an idiot to give up that. I’d blown my chance to explore those curves.

I couldn’t believe myself. I knew that I owed Olivia’s father my life, but the larger part of me wanted to go into Olivia’s room and finish what she’d started.

I wasn’t sure how the hell I was going to sleep after that.

NEXT>>

After Olivia’s father left, she went to take her bath and change into her pajamas.
